OriginWuyi Mountain, Fujian

Golden Bud 2026 is crafted from plump first-flush single buds of spring 2026 — a bud-grade, fully oxidized black tea. Compared with ordinary golden needle tea, the "Golden Bud" is plumper and denser in golden down; the dry leaf is long, needle-like and glossy gold. Once awakened by hot water, a caramel-honey aroma unfolds layer by layer with floral and fruity sweetness. The liquor is bright golden-red, entering mellow and sweet with a full honeyed body, then a quick and lasting finish that lingers at the throat. Best enjoyed plain to savor the delicate sweetness of the 2026 first flush, with the mountain terroir running through every sip.

  1. Warm the Wares

Rinse the gaiwan and cups with boiling water to raise the temperature and clear the cold air, so the aromas release more freely.

  2. Add Leaf & Inhale

Place 3–5 g of leaf into the gaiwan, give it a gentle swirl, and breathe in the caramel-honey and floral-fruity fragrance rising from the cup.

  3. Rinse Gently

Pour 90–95 °C water slowly along the inner wall, give one quick rinse and discard — this awakens the leaf and lifts any surface dust.

  4. Steep & Pour

For the first three infusions, pour quickly at 5–8 s; then add 5–10 s per infusion to savor the honeyed body and sweet finish.

Tip: Golden Bud 2026 has plump yet tender buds — keep water at 90–95 °C and never over-steep, or bitterness and astringency creep in. Plain brewing best reveals its honeyed sweetness; for a bolder cup, add slightly more leaf or extend the steep a touch.

The Tea Garden

The Tea Garden

Golden Bud 2026 comes from the high mountain tea region of Wuyi, Fujian. Sitting at 800–1200 m, the area is carved by deep valleys and wrapped in year-round mist, with large day-night temperature swings. The gravelly, mineral-rich soil slows the tea trees and builds dense inner compounds, giving this black tea its signature "mountain terroir".

Wuyi is a birthplace of Chinese black tea — home of Lapsang Souchong, the ancestor of black tea worldwide. A high mountain bud tea demands the utmost from both leaf and craft; only the plump, even single buds of the first flush qualify, long prized as the most refined expression of black tea.

The Tea Tree

The Tea Tree

Golden Bud 2026 uses first-flush single buds from a high-aroma Xiao Zhong tea tree, mostly one bud with one unfolding leaf. The buds are plumper and more downy than ordinary golden needle — the very source of the "Golden Bud" name and its abundant golden tips.

Spring buds flush around Qingming. We harvest only one season a year, with a short window and limited yield. The fresh leaf is refined through withering, rolling, oxidation and drying into a bud tea whose golden tips and honeyed aroma carry straight into the cup.
